HELPING TO CREATE A SAFE AND ENGAGING SPACE WITH A NEW COURTYARD AND TUCK SHOP FOR BLUECOATS ACADEMY

The Bluecoat Academy, Coventry asked FMS UK group to help rework part of their current kitchen area and make it into a functional tuck shop area with an external courtyard. The academy wanted the area to become a safe and engaging space where pupils could mingle and purchase snacks in between lessons. To enable this project to happen, we had to plan the work around term dates and find a slot where the school was empty due to the impact this would have on the current kitchen and playground. This was a complete turnkey solution for the our refurb teams and included the addition of new walls, windows, external cladding, decking. Plus, the installation of new electrics, plumbing, lighting, flooring and kitchen equipment.

PROJECT WORKS
Full turnkey solution – clearance and preparation of internal and external areas before work commenced. Rework of kitchen area to allow for new walls to create tuck shop area with counters, preparation counters and storage. Installation of new windows and external cladding to tuck shop area, plus new courtyard decking with ramp to allow disabled pupils access to tuck shop and entrance ways. Other key works included; plumbing, electrics, decorating, lighting, flooring and installation of new kitchen equipment.

WHAT WE DELIVERED
The final result was a complete transformation both internally and externally – the academy now has a fully functional tuck shop with plenty of storage and counter space, plus windows that full open to allow pupils to purchase items directly. Outside now has a fantastic non-slip decked courtyard area that enables pupils to congregate and engage whilst being able to get to the new tuck shop in a safe way. The academy was absolutely delighted with the work completed and this has enabled us to quote on additional projects to ensure that they remain fully compliant and safe space for pupils to learn.
